This site is dedicated to the HARDTOPPERS...proud owners of 1993-1995 Toyota Supra hardtop turbo models. This is a small subset of an already rare and amazing car, and I feel it is special enough to be celebrated in its own right.  We also welcome all lightweight Supra enthusiasts and anyone who has created their own vision of a fourth generation hardtop Supra turbo!

GENERAL:

Why make a fuss about hardtop turbo Supras?

Hardtop turbo Supras represent the lightest and stiffest of all the MKIV Supras (hardtops only available from 1993-1995). There were only 326 sold in the USA, and they are coveted by many of us for their pure performance nature. To myself, and many others, they represent the ultimate MKIV...the most pure and highest performance platform from which to begin with when creating an affordable supercar.

So what makes the hardtop turbo Supra so special?

Most MKIV (1993-1998) Supras were created as targa top cars, with removable roofs. Although nice in theory, the targa top is especially disconcerting when removed from the car. The targa top cars are more flexible and tend to develop leaks and squeaks much more often than their hardtop counterparts. The hardtop is not only reputed to be about 50-65 pounds lighter, but is considerably stiffer and offers more headroom for the competitive driving enthusiast...who is usually required to wear a helmet when competing on the track in road racing events. Additionally, all Supra hardtop turbos are equipped as 6 speed manual cars, which makes them real drivers cars!

This is my initial attempt at a Supra hardtop turbo registry for MKIV Supra owners. I expect the site to grow and develop over time, and I welcome and encourage all 1993-1995 Supra hardtop turbo owners to send the pictures and descriptions of their cars to me here: stethe@comcast.net

So far we have accounted for 93 of the original 326 hardtop Turbos sold in America. Keep them coming!
